I had the best time at this Ramona Grasslands engagement session with Amanda and Saxon! This location is always one of my favorites and I had not shot here in quite a while so I was very excited to be back.
The Grasslands are so unique to San Diego because we don’t typically have wide open pastures here unless you drive way out into the country. Although this location isn’t central by any means, it definitely is not far or difficult to get to!
Despite visiting here a handful of times, I have never actually see cows on the property until this session! I was super excited so of course I had to include them in some photos. It’s kind of wild that this is a public trail where people can come and go as they please and they just rely on visitors to close the gate on their own. You also want to respect that this is the cows home and give them their space. We made sure to keep our distance even though the cows had no problem getting a little too close for comfort at some moments!
We walked around this gorgeous trail, shooting until the sun went down. Blue hour is always my favorite time of day because the light is so soft and everything feels so calm. It rally brings out the colors in the sky and the rolling hills.
Amanda and Saxon are so sweet together and clearly have so much chemistry. I can’t wait to photograph their Temecula winery wedding in just a few short months!
